Perhaps the Middle East is not the first region of the world that would come to mind as a destination offering accessible and inclusive experiences for anyone with reduced mobility are additional access requirements.
It will come as a surprise to many that with appropriate planning and support from the CMTS team, the treasures of this rich and unique tapestry of ancient history, breathtaking world heritage sites, natural and dramatic beauty, and welcoming peoples can genuinely be enjoyed by all.
Egypt, a destination etched in the conscience of the majority of the world’s population and offering an evocative kaleidoscope of experiences. The Pyramids, The Sphinx, Valley of the Kings and of course the majestic River Nile. Add to this heady mix, the sun-drenched Red Sea beach resorts of Sharm el Sheikh, Hurghada and El Gouna and it easy to understand how Egypt is very much one of the the worlds ‘must-see’ places.
Staying with ancient heritage, history and bucket-list ambitions, few can be as tantalising as Petra in Jordan. Or consider the deserts and mountains of the Persian Gulf – Oman and the emirates of Ras al Khaimah and Abu Dhabi, or the human-crafted wonders of Dubai… truly a city for all that defies description – in easy reach from most UK regional airports.
And Israel, a small country with such an array of wonders to be discovered. From the vibrant and chic Mediterranean city resort of Tel Aviv to the Old City of Jerusalem. The National Parks of Herodian, Tel Megiddo, Caesarea and Qumran to name but a few. Ancient cities of Capernaum and Masada, The Dead Sea salt lake at 430.5 metres below sea level, making its shores the lowest land-based elevation on Earth. An absolute must for any visitor to this ancient land.
So, the Middle East. Arabian nights… and days, await.
